In the past few years, we have covered plenty of interesting safes here. Adafruit has shared a guide that shows you how to build your own safe to hide your things in plain sight. It also has an intrusion detector with a Circuit Playground Express.
As the book is opened, the LEDs activate to show intrusion. The Detector can show you when intrusion attempts have been made or someone has tried to tamper with it.
